Senior Care that is Truly Caring

It's a big decision to have your loved one stay in a nursing home community, and you want to be sure that the senior care they receive will be in a compassionate, caring environment.

Lenawee Medical Care Facility has transformed into a person-centered home. This means your loved one will receive more that the traditional senior care you may have heard about. There is structure to the therapies and activities, but the elders can select which activities they want to participate in.

Gone are the cafeteria-style, bland and boring meals. In our facility, senior residents select the time to eat, and they have an appetizing menu to choose from. Our "always available" menu gives them extra options when they want something different, or something extra during the day.

Cooked-to-order breakfast starts the day, where residents can eat in a cozy dining area with 12-20 other elders. Lunch and dinner choices are prepared in the main kitchen, and served in the households. The coziness of household living adds security for seniors, as well as the familiarity of dining with friends.

Unique Skilled Nursing Communities

We have divided our facility into eight households. Elders living in each household eat in small dining rooms, participate in individualized activities, and have caregivers who are consistently assigned to them.

What looks different in our senior living communities? Life is different. Our seniors are not lined up in wheelchairs, waiting for something to happen. They are actively engaged in activities, conversations, and fun!

There's always something to do in each of the households. Residents can participate in arts and crafts, exercise classes, cards and games, bingo, birthday parties, church services, special outings, picnics, and more.

You will notice our favorite pets wandering around, visiting residents and following staff on their rounds. Beautiful plants and wonderful music adorn our halls, with pianos available for residents as well as visitors to play. There are bird feeders to visit, a labyrinth to walk, and flower gardens to grow.

My father was a resident at Lenawee Medical Care Facility. He received excellent care while he was there. The highlight of my father's stay at your facility was the opportunity he had to build a relationship with the dog, Nicky. He looked forward to seeing him every day.

When my father took a turn for the worse, the facility offered us The Garden Room. The Garden Room was a relaxing, comfortable environment that made a very difficult experience more peaceful. My family was able to spend the time with my father in a spacious room that was designed to accommodate the people who needed and wanted to be there for my father.

Lenawee Medical Care Facility went above and beyond all expectations with the care, kindness and support that they gave my father and entire family. My family would like to thank the entire staff at Lenawee Medical Care Facility.

Hospital smells don't exist here; you will probably smell freshly baked cookies or hot popcorn instead. The comforts of home, brought to our nursing home households, help make the senior care services special for our residents. Households are comprised of private and semi-private rooms, each with their own bathroom. Residents are encouraged to decorate their rooms to help give their own at-home look to their surroundings.

Children's laughter mingles with our residents', because we also have a Head Start classroom in our facility. Our senior care activities include encouraging our residents to help the children with activities, reading time, crafts, and sing-along times. Children are great for adding a smile to an elder's face, and breathing life into weary bones!
